Chelsea took the lead by Ramires early in the game (11) and then widened the gap thanks to Drogba just after the break (52). The "Blues" had to withstand enormous pressure after reduction by Carroll in the 64th minute.
Liverpool has even thought to equalize eight minutes remaining on the head at close range even Carroll, but the referee did not award the goal, considering that goalkeeper Cech had pushed the ball before it crossed the line completely.
The victory rewarded the superiority of the team of Roberto Di Matteo, who dominated for an hour and was able to fall back in time to preserve the result, as it had at the Camp Nou to snatch a ticket to the European final at the expense of Barcelona.
The "Reds", who hoped to succeed after a double success in the League Cup in February and to forget a very disappointing season in the Championship, have re ; watched over too late under the impulse of their center-forward Carroll, came only in the 55th minute.
The exploit Cech

On the second goal, Drogba, perfectly served by Lampard had the chance to see his shot go between the legs of Liverpool defender before Skretl fit into the side netting.
Besides the goal of Carroll, who should not have been as easily get rid of Terry in the surface before putting his shot under the bar, the rear was a solid front Petr Cech again remarkable.
The judgment of the Czech whim of Carroll, who arrived yet launched three meters away from the cage, will the action of the match. Despite the protests of "Reds", the ball seems to not be fully entered.
This success confirms the dramatic turnaround of since taking office of Roberto Di Matteo in place of Andre Villas-Boas in March. In 18 games in all competitions, the "Blues" have lost only twice (12 wins).
